West Ham fans react to £15m Barcelona striker report

Many West Ham United fans have reacted after reports linking the club with a summer move for Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite.

The Daily Mail report that the Danish forward could be set to leave the Nou Camp, despite only joining the club in February on an emergency transfer, due to long-term injuries to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele.

The former Middlesbrough man has adjusted well to life in Barcelona, performing well during his opening three games for the Catalan club, but reports of a summer exit have emerged.

Barca, who are looking to bring in a new striker this summer, have identified former player Neymar and Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez as summer targets.

The report claims that the Hammers are keen to make a £15m bid, which is someway off the £266m release clause that Braithwaite has in his contract with the La Liga club.

Prior to joining Barca, Braithwaite had a spell with Leganes, where he scored an impressive 13 goals in 48 games, following stints with Toulouse, Bordeaux and Boro.

During his two seasons with Boro in the Championship between 2017 and 2019, the Danish international managed to net nine goals in 40 appearances.

Following on from the reports of a move for Braithwaite, many West Ham supporters have taken to social media to give their opinion on his possible arrival and below are just some of those posts via Twitter.
