West Ham eye up surprise summer move for Braithwaite
West Ham are ready to make a summer move to sign Barcelona’s Martin Braithwaite, according to the Daily Mail.
The 28-year-old made a surprise switch to Barcelona back in February, coming in as an emergency addition, filling the void left by the injured Luis Suarez.
Braithwaite could make a swift exit from the Nou Camp, however, with the Hammers keen on adding him to their attack.
Despite boasting a release clause of €300m (£266m), it is claimed that the Hammers could make a £15m bid.

Braithwaite could be an intriguing addition to a West Ham attack that has struggled to fire this season. Sebastien Haller is the Hammers’ top scorer in the Premier League this season with just seven goals, highlighting their lack of goal threat. Braithwaite scored eight in all competitions for Leganes in 2019/20, before his move to Barca.
While he may not be at the required standard for Barca – he has only made three appearances, not yet finding the net – he could have a bigger impact at a club of West Ham’s stature where there is considerably less pressure.
Capable of playing out wide or down the middle, the Denmark international could also provide David Moyes with versatility in the final third in a way that Haller, an out-an-out striker, cannot.
