Spurs and West Ham amongst clubs ready to bid for Lovren

Tottenham and West Ham are ready to make a bid for Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, according to a report on TEAMtalk.

As stated in the report, fellow London clubs Arsenal and Crystal Palace are the other sides that are prepared to make a move for the Croatian international.

Lovren is understood to be ready to leave Anfield in search of more regular playing time after losing his place in the team to youngster Joe Gomez, whilst also falling behind Joel Matip in the pecking order.

READ WEST HAM VERDICT

We believe Lovren could be a great signing for West Ham. Mainly because of his experience. The 6ft 2 centre-back has played at the highest level for a number of years, winning the Champions League with Liverpool and making the World Cup final with Croatia – not to mention another two European finals with the Reds. Experience of that magnitude is unrivalled in the current West Ham squad.

As stated on the official Premier League website, Lovren has a 71% tackle success rate in the top-flight, whereas current Hammers defender Issa Diop only has 55%, suggesting that Lovren could be a good replacement for the Frenchman.

Diop has been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks and we feel that if he does leave in the summer, then Lovren could provide good cover at the back for David Moyes’ side because of his aerial prowess, which WhoScored list as one of his strengths.
