# Where is Diafra Sakho now?

Diafra Sakho[left West Ham United](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42862752) in January 2018 but where is the former Hammers striker now?

Sakho netted 24 times for the Hammers in all competitions in 71 appearances, netting some important goals for the club ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diafra-sakho/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/120610)).

The Senegal international got his name on the scoresheet in West Ham’s final match at Upton Park to help the team to a famous 3-2 victory over Manchester United ([BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36189168)).

Some Hammers fans feel he had plenty of potential to succeed in London but his attitude let him down.

But where is he now?

### CURRENT CLUB

Sakho is currently a free agent after French side Rennes terminated his contract in December 2019, six months before it was due to expire ([Goal](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/former-west-ham-striker-diafra-sakho-released-by-rennes/1jawsxrc5s23d10p26brarwpdh)).

### FORM THIS SEASON

The centre-forward didn’t play a single minute for Rennes in the first half of the season, making the matchday squad just once for the Ligue 1 clash with SCO Angers ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diafra-sakho/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/120610)).

### CURRENT SITUATION

The forward is still without a club and is only 30 years of age, meaning he could be hoping to sign a deal with a new club in the summer.
