West Ham fans react as Moyes plans to turn to youngsters

As first reported by Claret and Hugh, West Ham United manager David Moyes is set to only target players who are 25 or under and these Hammers fans are split regarding the manager’s approach.

The Hammers recruited Tomas Soucek in the January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season and have an option to buy him for £13 million when the loan expires.

Many of the club’s fans want Soucek to be signed after some promising displays since his arrival.

The Scot has also given a first-team chance to 19-year-old Jeremy Ngakia, who seems to have now cemented his starting spot ahead of veteran defender Pablo Zabaleta and the injured Ryan Fredericks.

Furthermore, Moyes completed the signing of 23-year-old Jarrod Bowen for over £20m from Hull City (BBC Sport), further showing his desire to build a young team.

These West Ham fans on Twitter can’t seem to make their mind up, with some happy with the new approach, others not in favour and some want him to look to the academy instead of signing players from other clubs.
