# Hammers fans want Wilshere to be offloaded this summer

Jack Wilshere is still contracted at West Ham but many Hammers fans want that to change this summer.

The midfielder, who [joined the Hammers](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44766806) from London rivals Arsenal, has endured another injury-riddled season.

The Englishman has featured just [eight times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-wilshere/verletzungen/spieler/74223) this season as his injury woes continue and many of the club’s fans have had enough and want him to be sold.

As stated on [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-rarely-seen-west-ham-player-back-in-training-at-rush-green/), the central midfielder has been out of action since mid-October and recently had a hernia operation, extending his time on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old has [missed 21 matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-wilshere/verletzungen/spieler/74223) this season and despite this, he is one of the club’s highest-paid players.

According to [data website Spotrac](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/west-ham-united-f.c/payroll/), the central midfielder earns £100,000 a week with the Hammers, more than first-team players like Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski.
