# Hammers boosted by Sanson’s price being lowered by Marseille

According to a report on[Le10 Sport](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/mercato-om-le-prix-de-morgan-sanson-largement-revu-a-la-baisse-496240), Morgan Sanson’s value has been dropped to around €25m and that could be a huge boost for West Ham.

The Marseille midfielder has [been a target](https://readwestham.com/2019/06/09/west-ham-eye-move-for-morgan-sanson/) for the Hammers for some time but his high price tag has seemed to be an issue.

But, with the French Ligue 1 side [desperate for funds](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/mercato-om-le-prix-de-morgan-sanson-largement-revu-a-la-baisse-496240) to ensure there is no breach of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, his valuation has dropped down from the initial €40m asking price.

In the January transfer window, the Hammers had a [€30m bid for Sanson rejected](https://readwestham.com/2020/03/13/west-ham-had-e30m-bid-for-morgan-sanson-rejected-in-january/) by Marseille.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

The midfielder himself admitted that [he laughed](https://readwestham.com/2020/02/11/west-ham-target-morgan-sanson-laughed-after-hearing-rumours-of-hammers-bid/) when he heard of interest in him from West Ham, which immediately isn’t a good sign about his intentions.

However, the Frenchman, who has scored 39 goals in his career ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/morgan-sanson/leistungsdaten/spieler/174094)), could now be offloaded for even less than the €30m that was offered for him and this could suit the Hammers. Naturally, if the London club were willing to pay €30m for him, then we feel that paying €25m should be no issue.

However, we believe that whether West Ham stay in the top-flight or not could play a big part in whether they pursue a move for Sanson, who has [ten goal involvements](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/morgan-sanson/leistungsdaten/spieler/174094) this season.
