Di Canio urges West Ham fans to show unity as he predicts bright future

Paulo Di Canio has sent a message to all West Ham United fans and they’re sure to love it.

The former Hammers star, who was a guest on talkSPORT on Wednesday, feels that the club need to use unity to get out of the current difficult situation because he can see bright things for the club in the future.

Speaking on the White and Sawyer show on talkSPORT (18/03/2020), Di Canio said:

I can understand their frustration. We need to be a unit, everybody expected a better season.

Now is the moment I hope, to get close because everyone loses out if West Ham go down.

Try to push all in the same direction. West ham have got incredible potential to finish in the top eight in the future.

Hammers fans will love the Italian’s comments because it shows that he can see them rising up the table again.

The club’s most recent top-eight finish came in the 2015/16 season when they finished seventh under the guidance of Slaven Bilic (Transfermarkt).

Many West Ham fans must be feeling very distressed about the club’s current situation on and off the pitch, but the fact that a legend like Di Canio, who enjoyed some wonderful moments at the club, can see a bright future means that there’s something in the squad that could work.

Di Canio is known for wearing his heart on his sleeve and if he genuinely didn’t think the club could recover from this situation, there’s every chance he would have come out and said so.

But the fact that he sees a top-eight finish coming from them soon should be enough motivation for the fans to pull together and support the team through this difficult period.
