Defenders West Ham could target if Diop leaves

West Ham United defender Issa Diop is attracting plenty of interest at the moment.

According to The Mirror, fellow Premier League side Arsenal are interested in securing his signature this summer. Other in Spain, Don Balon report that FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also ready to battle to sign the Frenchman as well.

The 23-year-old has nailed down a starting spot for the Hammers and has formed a pretty solid partnership with Italian centre-back Angelo Ogbonna in recent months.

Diop has found the back of the net three times in all competitions this season, showing that he is also a danger from attacking set-pieces.

However, if the Hammers lose the centre-back in the summer transfer window, they need to ensure that they have reliable options to replace him.

This means that the club may need to look far and wide for an adequate replacement. Below, we’ve listed some centre-backs who we feel the Hammers should look at to replace Diop if he does leave.
