With the current football season suspended, Tomas Soucek’s West Ham United future looks to be in the hands of UEFA.
The governing body is set to meet and decide what to do with the 2019/20 season and their decision could impact whether Soucek makes a permanent move to the Hammers or not, according to Claret and Hugh.
The midfielder joined the Hammers in the January transfer window on an initial loan deal until the end of June, with an option to buy him for £13m at the end of that loan (BBC Sport).
However, the league season could continue beyond June, meaning Soucek’s deal would have expired.
Therefore, UEFA’s decision regarding what to do with the current season could prove to be crucial in regards to this particular transfer.
Soucek has impressed fans with his recent displays but he suffered a minor injury setback during the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool.
These Hammers fans on Twitter provided their response to the news.
