# Hammers fans want to see Xande Silva in the first-team

On Monday, West Ham United’s reserve team star Xande Silva turned 23 and plenty of Hammers fans have sent him some messages.

The attacker signed for West Ham’s academy [in August 2018](https://www.whufc.com/teams/development-squad/squad/xande-silva) and has since won over many fans with some brilliant displays for the Under-23 side.

He netted a [spectacular hat-trick](https://www.whufc.com/teams/development-squad/squad/xande-silva) on his debut for the club in a Premier League 2 clash with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur but has spent a lot of time on the sidelines.

As reported on the [official club website](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/august/16-august/xande-silva-im-feeling-stronger-every-day), the striker had an emergency operation on his stomach last summer and has only recently returned to full fitness after a long period of recovery and rehabilitation.

With Albian Ajeti struggling to make an impact in the senior squad, we feel it could be Silva’s chance to stake a claim for a regular first-team spot.

Many Hammers fans [on Twitter](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1239607680815321089)have made it clear that they want to see the forward introduced into the first-team by David Moyes soon.
