West Ham United and Newcastle United are interested in signing Manchester United defender Phil Jones this summer, according to a report on The Mirror.
The Englishman has only played eight times in all competitions this season (Transfermarkt) and as stated in the report, could be handed a chance to rejuvenate his career by the Hammers or the Magpies.
The Red Devils are understood to be ready to listen to offers of around £12m for the centre-back, who is keen to get more playing time.
At the moment, he is behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly in the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Would this be a good signing for the Hammers? There are certainly a few positives. One is experience.
As stated on the official Premier League website, Jones has played 200 times in the top-flight, helping to keep 60 clean sheets in that period.
Another positive is his defensive ability. Jones has won 1051 duels in the Premier League, over 400 more than he has lost.
However, his fitness problems could be a major issue.
The centre-back has consistently missed matches due to various different issues in recent seasons and if he can’t keep himself fit, then we feel the Hammers should look to alternative targets.
