# West Ham fans react as Hammers enter FIFA tournament

West Ham United [revealed](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1239537788002992129) that they have entered a 64 team FIFA tournament and many of the club’s fans are delighted with the news.

The tournament, created and hosted by[Leyton Orient FC on Twitter](https://twitter.com/leytonorientfc/status/1239276927573262341), has already seen fellow top-flight sides Crystal Palace, Norwich City, Newcastle United and Aston Villa confirm their participation.

Each club will choose a representative to play on the club’s behalf and it can be a player or a fan.

With all elite level football in England suspended until early April ([BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51867989)), many clubs have been trying to get creative on social media to ensure there are effective engagements with fans.

Judging by the tweet, it seems the Hammers have selected Declan Rice to represent the club during the knockout tournament and many fans[on Twitter](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1239537788002992129) have shown their delight at the club signing up to take part.

There’s still no confirmation whether the FIFA matches will be streamed live online but we expect further details to be released imminently.

These West Ham fans were clearly over the moon…
