# Manchester United fans hit back at Jones-Rice swap suggestion

West Ham United’s Declan Rice has[been linked with a move](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7641335/Manchester-United-make-80m-rated-Declan-Rice-target-summer-make-January-move.html) to Manchester United in recent transfer windows but many fans of the Red Devils don’t want to see him anywhere near Old Trafford.

The Englishman is a key member of the West Ham squad, proven by the fact that he has played [every single Premier League minute](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdaten/spieler/357662) for the club this season.

Rice, who is now also an[England international](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/march/22-march/pictures-declan-rice-makes-england-debut), is valued at[£49.5m by Transfermarkt.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdaten/spieler/357662)

In December 2018, the defensive midfielder signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract at West Ham taking him to 2024, with an option to extend that deal by another year ([The Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/declan-rice-west-ham-contract-transfer-news-epl-a8702381.html)).

The Hammers have recently[been linked](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-offer-phil-jones-premier-21693802) with a move for United’s Phil Jones, which resulted in [one fan on Twitter](https://twitter.com/ftbIswanny/status/1238962541256151041) suggesting a swap deal with the London club involving Rice.

However, many fellow United fans clearly weren’t too keen on that idea, with many criticising Rice in the process.
