# Hammers fans warn Arsenal after reports of Diop interest

West Ham United defender is [reportedly](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-plot-issa-diop-transfer-21695324) wanted by Premier League rivals Arsenal and many of the club’s fans have issued a warning to the Gunners.

According to [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-plot-issa-diop-transfer-21695324), Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta believes that Diop could solve his side’s defensive woes.

The Frenchman has been a key figure for the Hammers [since joining the club](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44522330) in 2018 from French side Toulouse.

He’s[cemented a starting role](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/issa-diop/leistungsdaten/spieler/272622) under David Moyes, playing well alongside Angelo Ogbonna in centre-back.

Diop was wanted by numerous clubs last summer but the Hammers made it clear that they were[not ready to sell](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/westham/west-ham-insist-they-will-not-sell-issa-diop-this-summer-despite-man-utd-links-a4168731.html)one of their star players.

The same may be needed again this summer with Arsenal keeping a close eye on the defender’s situation.

Many West Ham fans want Arsenal to look elsewhere or to pay a huge fee for his signature.
