West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United defender Phil Jones and many Hammers fans can’t believe it.
As reported on The Mirror, West Ham and Newcastle are keeping an eye on his situation as the Red Devils look to offload the centre-back for around £12m this summer.
Jones has rarely featured for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season, making just eight appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
The defender is struggling to find a way back into the United squad and is firmly behind fellow defender Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly at the moment.
The Englishman wants to be playing first-team football more regularly and the Hammers are said to be interested in providing that for him, which has shocked many of the club’s fans.
Some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to show their shock and discontent at the latest transfer link to Jones and it’s clear that they are disappointed with the news.
