# Gallery: Free agents West Ham could sign this summer

This summer, numerous top quality players will be out of contract at clubs all over Europe ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/endendevertraege)) and we believe West Ham United should target some of them.

The Hammers are currently [out of the Premier League’s relegation zone](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) on goal difference but with the top-flight being [suspended until April](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51867989), everyone is still unsure about what will happen next.

The London club have invested heavily during recent transfer windows, shown by the signings of Sebastien Haller [for £45m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49017405) and Pablo Fornals [for £24m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48636017) last summer.

In the January transfer window earlier this year, the club splashed out more than £20m on winger Jarrod Bowen ([BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51323082)), who has [opened his scoring](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51595061) account for the club after netting against Southampton.

Despite these heavy investments, the squad still needs improvements in certain areas.

Free transfers can sometimes end up being the best ones because there’s no transfer fee attached, so below, we’ve listed some players [whose contracts are expiring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/endendevertraege)at the end of the season and therefore, available for West Ham to sign.
