West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell has revealed that his favourite away stadium is Anfield and that could please plenty of Liverpool fans.
The left-back, who was born in Liverpool, admitted that he loves playing at Anfield because of the incredible atmosphere that the home fans generate when the team plays there.
The Englishman played the entire 90 minutes in Merseyside earlier this year (Transfermarkt) as the Hammers fell to a 3-2 defeat against Jurgen Klopp’s side after having led twice in the match.
His admission is likely to make plenty of Liverpool fans happy, mainly because it shows that the noise they generate is appreciated by rival top-flight teams and players.
With other top-flight stadiums having a higher capacity than Anfield, such as Manchester United’s Old Trafford, the fact Cresswell chose Anfield shows to Liverpool fans that they’re doing something right to make opposing players love playing at their stadium.
As stated on the club’s official website, the full-back is also a boyhood Liverpool fan, so that could have played a big part in his choice.
It also shows that despite playing for another Premier League club, Cresswell hasn’t changed his loyalties and that could be something that Liverpool fans appreciate.
