West Ham United are furious with Championship side West Bromwich Albion for their handling of Grady Diangana’s injury, according to Football Insider, and we feel they have every right to be.
The youngster joined the Baggies on a season-long loan deal last summer and made a bright start to the campaign.
The 21-year-old managed to get his name on the scoresheet five times and registered six assists up until December (Transfermarkt), which is when his hamstring problems began.
The winger missed four matches over the festive period, before returning against Stoke City, where he once again limped off after just four minutes.
As stated in the report, the Hammers are furious that West Brom and Slaven Bilic tried to rush him back into action and we totally agree with their stance.
Diangana is scheduled to return to London at the end of the season and the Hammers may have been expecting a fully fit and confident player returning, but instead, they could potentially get back a player who is physically much weaker and more vulnerable than when he left.
The pacey attacker is now back in training, meaning he could play a part in helping secure promotion for the Baggies back to the Premier League.
The Hammers should be praying that he doesn’t suffer any further setbacks or they may need to consider signing a winger in the summer, rather than using Diangana if they can’t rely on him to stay fit.
