# West Ham fans praise Ngakia after official club post

Young West Ham United defender Jermey Ngakia [retained his spot](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1236290505450885122) in the starting XI for the clash with Arsenal last weekend and supporters loved what they saw.

The right-back had a pretty solid game defensively, nullifying Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates Stadium.

The teenager has now[started four consecutive matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeremy-ngakia/leistungsdaten/spieler/503795) for the Hammers, including twice against league-leaders Liverpool.

With Ryan Fredericks [struggling with injury](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/january/06-january/ryan-fredericks-injury-update) and Pablo Zabaleta out of favour, Ngakia has seized the opportunity to cement a starting role under David Moyes and it seems even when Fredericks returns, Ngakia could continue to get the nod by the manager.

The club’s [official Twitter account](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1237030380944756736) posted a picture of Ngakia, appreciating his performance and generally sounding quite positive about him getting ‘minutes in the bank’.

Many[Hammers fans](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1237030380944756736) have responded to the post, with several fans praising the 19-year-old for the impact he has had on the team.

Some even agree that he is now the number one choice right-back at the club.
