Traore’s shoulder problem is a welcome boost for West Ham

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore has been suffering from a shoulder injury this season and this could be great news for West Ham.

The Hammers host Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this weekend in the Premier League.

The Wolves boss has admitted that he is worried by Traore’s constant dislocation of his left shoulder. As quoted in the Daily Star, he said:

I’m worried – of course I’m worried – but I’m hopeful he can maintain and stay with us competing without needing any kind of surgery. The situation is difficult. Every time it happens, it’s a very painful moment for him.

The injury means that Traore isn’t feeling his best, which provides the Hammers with a higher chance of getting a positive result against the high-flyers.

The 24-year-old has six goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season (Transfermarkt), proving that he is an obvious attacking danger, but whilst carrying the painful problem, he may not be able to produce like he normally does.

Traore became the first player to complete 50 dribbles in the Premier League in 2020 last weekend (BBC Sport), showing that he is a key part of the way Wolves attack.

But, with the former Barcelona man not feeling his best, they could be forced to try and come at West Ham using a different approach, which may not suit them or the players.

With the Hammers only out of the relegation zone on goal difference, playing Wolves without one of their key men fully fit could just be the boost they need to go on and get a positive result at the London Stadium.
