# Leeds interested in Cullen and his decision could change his career

Championship leaders Leeds United [are reportedly interested](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8095637/West-Ham-facing-fight-hold-Josh-Cullen-Bournemouth-Leeds-West-Brom-interested.html) in signing West Ham United’s Josh Cullen and what happens next could change the youngster’s career.

The midfielder is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic, where his displays have been pretty impressive this season, resulting in Leeds identifying him as a potential summer target.

As stated on the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8095637/West-Ham-facing-fight-hold-Josh-Cullen-Bournemouth-Leeds-West-Brom-interested.html), AFC Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion are also keen to secure his signature at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old has made[25 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.com/josh-cullen/profil/spieler/242606) in the Championship this term and the Hammers [recently triggered a clause](https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/18182205.charltons-josh-cullen-confirms-west-ham-triggered-contract-extension/) in his contract which extends his stay with them for a further year.

But, as stated in [the Daily Mail’s report](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8095637/West-Ham-facing-fight-hold-Josh-Cullen-Bournemouth-Leeds-West-Brom-interested.html), the London club is struggling to agree on a longer deal and the midfielder’s next decision could change his career.

With the Hammers currently well-stocked in midfield, Cullen may find it easier to get more game time at Leeds, especially because of Kalvin Phillips being strongly [linked with a move away](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1240227/Wolves-Leeds-Kalvin-Phillips-transfer) from Marcelo Bielsa’s side, potentially providing the opportunity for Cullen to come in and fill his shoes.

Leeds are also on the rise, while the Hammers risk going in the opposite direction. The Yorkshire club have a world-class manager, currently sit at the [top of the Championship](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) and have one of the world’s best fanbases, whereas West Ham are currently involved in a [tense relegation scrap](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) as they bid to stay in the Premier League.

If it’s game time that Cullen is looking for, we feel that Leeds might just be the safer option for him or he could find himself out on loan for another season.
