# Latest Lozano update won’t please Hammers fans

Everton is the “likely destination” for West Ham United target Hirving Lozano, according to a report fro  [Il Mattino](https://www.ilmattino.it/sport/sscnapoli/lozano_napoli_puo_cederlo_cifra_vicina_quella_investita-5100818.html), a report that is likely to disappoint some Hammers fans.

Lozano is currently heavily out of favour at Serie A side Napoli and has [been linked](https://readwestham.com/2020/03/04/west-hams-potential-move-for-lozano-could-spell-trouble-for-anderson/) with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks.

The Mexican international was taken to Napoli by now-Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti during his spell there and the two could reunite this summer.

[The report](https://www.ilmattino.it/sport/sscnapoli/lozano_napoli_puo_cederlo_cifra_vicina_quella_investita-5100818.html) confirms that West Ham are also very interested in the winger and so the news that he could be Everton-bound should disappoint the West Ham fans even more.

The attacker is only 24-years-old and already has [84 club career goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hirving-lozano/leistungsdaten/spieler/316889), which shows just how dangerous he is going forward with the ball, something which the Hammers need, proven by the fact that they’ve only scored[35 times in 29 matches](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), two fewer than Everton.

Furthermore, current attackers [Felipe Anderson](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/leistungsdaten/spieler/159372) and [Manuel Lanzini](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manuel-lanzini/leistungsdaten/spieler/135853) are in a dreadful run of form, whilst Andriy Yarmolenko seems to be very injury prone, missing a total of 45 games over the last two seasons ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrii-yarmolenko/verletzungen/spieler/69015)).

Lozano has[three goals and two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hirving-lozano/leistungsdaten/spieler/316889) in 1460 minutes of football this season and could be the man to help propel the Hammers if they remain in the top-flight this season.

Another reason why the news could disappoint fans is that rivals Everton are leading the chase for his signature.

A club of West Ham’s stature may be expected to fend off competition from teams like Everton but it seems the player’s close relationship to Ancelotti could scupper West Ham’s attempts to lure him to London.
