# West Ham fans loved Rice’s display against Arsenal

Declan Rice put in another impressive showing for West Ham United against Arsenal and many of the club’s fans have praised the Englishman.

Rice [partnered club captain](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1236290505450885122) Mark Noble in midfield and did well to halt many of Arsenal’s attacking attempts.

The 21-year-old made two tackles, two interceptions, two clearances and blocked two shots during the narrow defeat at the Emirates Stadium ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1376226/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Arsenal-West-Ham)).

Many[West Ham fans recently made it clear](https://readwestham.com/2020/03/02/hammers-fans-hope-rice-never-leaves-the-club/) that they never want to see Rice leave the club, but with great performances like that, we feel it’s only a matter of time before he could potentially leave the London Stadium.

In December 2018, Rice [penned a new long-term contract](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2018/december/28-december/west-ham-united-sign-declan-rice-new-long-term-contract) with the Hammers, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2024, with the club having an option to trigger a clause to keep him for a further year.
