# Gallery: Five players West Ham should target this summer

West Ham United did some good business in the January transfer window and the likliehood is that they’ll be required to do the same at the end of the season.

David Moyes secured the signatures of [Jarrod Bowen](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51323082) and[Tomas Soucek](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51285153) in January, with both players settling into the squad quickly and winning over the fans.

Bowen[scored in his first start](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51595061)for the Hammers in the Premier League, firing past Alex McCarthy during the 3-1 victory over Southampton at the London Stadium last weekend.

Soucek has also made a positive impact, but suffered a [slight setback](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51633935) after picking up an injury during the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool last month.

If the Hammers can manage to avoid relegation back to the Championship this season, then Moyes knows that he will need to recruit smartly to ensure the team are not involved in another scrap at the bottom end of the table.
