Soucek’s return could be trouble for Noble

Soucek’s return could be trouble for Noble

David Moyes has confirmed that midfielder Tomas Soucek is fit enough for the match-day squad for Saturday’s clash with Arsenal and that could spell trouble for Mark Noble.

The Hammers make the short trip to north London to face Mikel Arteta’s Gunners on the back of a morale-boosting 3-1 victory over Southampton.

Late last month, Soucek was ruled out for three weeks after suffering an injury against Liverpool, but Moyes confirmed his speedy recovery in his pre-match press conference.

As stated on the club’s official website, he said:

Tomas Soucek’s doing very well and he’s just about match-fit, very close to it now, so he’s recovered very quickly. Tomas has got a very good chance [of featuring].

We feel that Soucek’s swift recovery could be a problem for club captain Noble.

The Englishman hasn’t been putting in the best performances recently. Many Hammers fans have criticised the skipper for his recent displays and the return of Soucek may see him dropped from the team’s starting XI.

Although he’s not ready to start at the Emirates, the January arrival should be fully fit after this weekend, meaning Noble may need a superb performance in midfield to retain his spot.
