West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has heaped praise on Jarrod Bowen after the January arrival scored his first goal for the club last weekend.
The former Hull City winger scored during the 3-1 victory over Southampton at the London Stadium and Rice revealed that he’s just as good in training.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Rice said:
Jarrod, I have to say, is top-notch. He’s very sharp and he’ll be excellent for us.
I think West Ham fans should definitely be excited about him because in training he dribbles around you, he’s as sharp as anything.
We feel that Rice’s comments should excite the Hammers fans at they highlight Bowen’s competitive nature.
Not every player gives full effort and application during training but the fact that Bowen is breezing past players shows that he’s competitive in the week as well as on match days.
It also goes some way to proving that he is incredibly confident at the moment.
Scoring his first goal for the club is set to add to that confidence and with some big matches coming up, the fans have the security of knowing that the new signing is fully committed to the cause.
West Ham have some good players in the team but to hear that Bowen is dribbling past plenty of them shows that he potentially has what it takes to get past almost any defender in the top-flight.
Exciting times!
