West Ham have played a behind closed door friendly to test the fitness of Carlos Sanchez and Andriy Yarmolenko, according to club insider ExWHUEmployee.

The pair have been out of action for some time, with Yarmolenko picking up a tear in the abductor muscle against Southampton earlier this season.

Meanwhile, Sanchez has not appeared since David Moyes was appointed as Hammers boss, with his last game being the defeat to Leicester City that ultimately got Manuel Pellegrini sacked.

However, according to ExWHUEmployee, the Hammers tested the fitness of the winger and midfielder in a behind closed doors friendly against Tottenham Hotspur.

The game was held on Tuesday, with the Hammers doing all they can to get the pair back into the first-team ahead of the crucial run-in to the end of the season.

Several West Ham fans reacted on Twitter to the news, with many not wanting Carlos Sanchez to return at all before the end of the season.
