West Ham duo Mark Noble and Declan Rice told to “stop talking” by Danny Murphy

West Ham duo Mark Noble and Declan Rice have been urged to let their performances on the pitch do the talking by pundit Danny Murphy on TalkSPORT.

The pair have come under fire for comments, with Mark Noble especially being criticised after saying the players were desperate for a rest before the postponed clash with Manchester City.

However, Murphy has urged the pair to “stop talking”, saying on Jim White’s TalkSPORT show (10am-1pm):

I said something recently. I am a big fan of Mark Noble and what he has done for West Ham. I have had many a tussle with Mark, he’s a good player. Declan also, who I am a big, big fan of, who is going to go on and do great things.

But those two need to stop talking for a little while. Get on with your game. You don’t have to keep fronting up for everybody else. You don’t need to keep fronting for everybody else because you are the West Ham boys. Let some of the others take responsibility.

Seemingly everyone at West Ham is coming under fire lately, with Noble being criticised alongside the ownership, which has also been under a lot of criticism.

However, Murphy does have a point here, with the Hammers players having to show their commitment to the cause on the pitch with their performances.

If the West Ham players can start winning games, then the fan criticisms of them will lighten, but performances will have to start improving rapidly, with David Moyes’ side without a league win since New Years Day.

However, to start with, we feel as if Noble and co will have to stop things like the comments made to James Collins getting to the press, because things like that could only damage the mood of the fans even further.
