Man City won’t cut winter break short despite West Ham reschedule

Manchester City will not cut short their winter break despite their fixture with West Ham being moved to next week, according to the Telegraph.

After Storm Ciara forced the postponement of the original fixture, the Premier League had to reschedule the game, with the league deciding on next Wednesday as the most suitable date.

However, Pep Guardiola will not change his plans ahead of the fixture, with City now returning to action three days early.

Guardiola will get his players to return this weekend, as planned, meaning that they will only have a few days to prepare for the rearranged clash with the Hammers.

City will not be changing their plans for the visit of the Hammers, which may show that Guardiola simply wants to stick to the plan of giving his players some time off from all football.

However, he surely won’t like that his plans have been disrupted by the rearranged fixture, especially with his side returning to Champions League action the week after.

West Ham may be handed an advantage by this, especially with City having a hectic schedule after the clash. City’s players should feel fresh but Guardiola, now that the league title is pretty much out of reach, may decide to rest a few players agianst the Hammers with the Real Madrid game in mind.
