# West Ham fans react to news Reece Oxford could move to German fourth tier

Former West Ham youngster Reece Oxford could be set for a move to the fourth tier of German football, with the defender failing to impress at Augsburg, according to [Kicker](https://www.kicker.de/768848/artikel/warum_oxford_und_danso_nicht_wechselten#twfeed).

Oxford, who was touted as a huge prospect after [making his debut at the age of 16](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3191191/Reece-Oxford-makes-debut-against-Arsenal-age-16-West-Ham-teenager-holds-talent-packed-midfield.html), has struggled since moving to the Bundesliga, and now finds himself linked with a move to the German Regional Leagues.

Last summer, the defender [left to join the Bundesliga](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/august/02-august/reece-oxford-departs-west-ham-united-german-club-augsburg) side after spending time out on loan there previously.

The[report](https://www.kicker.de/768848/artikel/warum_oxford_und_danso_nicht_wechselten#twfeed) does mention that there was some interest in Oxford from England, but the club wanted the player to remain in Germany for the time being.

[Oxford hasn’t appeared](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/reece-oxford/leistungsdaten/spieler/314295) for Augsburg since November and looks to have found himself out of the first-team entirely.

Several West Ham fans have reacted to the news of Oxford potentially moving to the fourth tier, with many disappointed that such a highly-rated prospect has fallen so far since leaving the club.
