West Ham fans react to news Reece Oxford could move to German fourth tier

Former West Ham youngster Reece Oxford could be set for a move to the fourth tier of German football, with the defender failing to impress at Augsburg, according to Kicker.

Oxford, who was touted as a huge prospect after making his debut at the age of 16, has struggled since moving to the Bundesliga, and now finds himself linked with a move to the German Regional Leagues.

Last summer, the defender left to join the Bundesliga side after spending time out on loan there previously.

The report does mention that there was some interest in Oxford from England, but the club wanted the player to remain in Germany for the time being.

Oxford hasn’t appeared for Augsburg since November and looks to have found himself out of the first-team entirely.

Several West Ham fans have reacted to the news of Oxford potentially moving to the fourth tier, with many disappointed that such a highly-rated prospect has fallen so far since leaving the club.
