West Ham could go back in for Moussa Wague according to club insider

West Ham could make another swoop to sign right-back Moussa Wague from Barcelona this summer, according to West Ham club insider ExWHUEmployee.

Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (4th February), ExWHUEmployee claimed that the Hammers could reignite their interest in Wague this summer after missing out on a move in January.

The Guardian reported that West Ham walked away from a deal for the right-back on deadline day, with the Hammers reportedly concerned over potential work permit issues.

ExWHUEmployee revealed on the podcast that the interest may be reignited however, with West Ham seemingly keen on a summer move.

We tried to sign a right-back on deadline day from Barcelona. He’s someone we’re keeping an eye on for a possible summer move.

The Hammers spent deadline day trying to get a move for Jarrod Bowen over the line, so it is easy to see why a deal to sign Wague didn’t happen.

Wague joined Nice on loan for the rest of the season instead of moving to West Ham, so there is still potentially a window for the Hammers to bring him in at the end of the campaign.

However, it will surely depend on whether or not West Ham can stay up.

In our opinion, the Hammers would likely be unable to sign him if they went down to to the Championship, with Wague surely being out of their price bracket.

Despite only making three appearances so far this season, the 21-year-old has achieved a pass completion rate of 86%, whilst also racking up six tackles, three clearances and two interceptions as per WhoScored.

He could be a good signing, but a deal only looks likely if West Ham can stay in the top flight.
