Former West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that the failure of Roberto was a big reason that he was sacked as West Ham boss, as per Sky Sports.
The Chilean boss was sacked after a poor run of form that saw the Hammers lose nine of twelve games and slide down into the bottom half of the table.
Speaking to La Tercera in his home country, Pellegrini revealed that he blames Roberto for some of the failures of his time in charge of West Ham, and that the Spaniard being between the sticks was responsible for a loss of confidence within the team.
Unfortunately, we had a major injury, from the goalkeeper [Lukasz Fabianski] of four months. And the performance of the second [Roberto] was not as expected.
He had responsibility in several goals. The team was losing confidence, the results were denied and the owners decided to change.
Several West Ham fans took to Twitter to react to the interview with Pellegrini, with many not having much sympathy for the former Hammers boss.
