# West Ham preparing late loan offer for Giroud

West Ham United are preparing a late loan offer for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, according to a report on [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-launch-bid-to-sign-90k-a-week-pl-striker-3m-will-seal-deal/).

The Hammers have [reportedly been interested](https://readwestham.com/2019/11/04/west-ham-eyeing-up-january-move-for-giroud/) in the Frenchman since last November.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has[left the door open](https://readwestham.com/2020/01/18/lampard-admits-west-ham-target-giroud-could-leave-chelsea-this-month/) for Giroud to leave Stamford Bridge in this transfer window and as stated in[the report](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-launch-bid-to-sign-90k-a-week-pl-striker-3m-will-seal-deal/), the Blues are willing to negotiate a loan deal.

West Ham are now preparing a ‘multi-million-pound’ loan offer for the 33-year-old attacker, who recently[turned down](https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1222911412131061760) a second approach from Newcastle United.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Giroud has plenty of experience in the top flight and has managed to [score 78 times in the competition.](https://www.premierleague.com/players/4481/Olivier-Giroud/stats?co=1&se=-1)

As reported on [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/11670949/olivier-giroud-frustrated-by-lack-of-chelsea-game-time) last year, the striker admitted that he has become frustrated with his lack of playing time at Chelsea.

The striker has only played [282 minutes of senior football](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-giroud/leistungsdaten/spieler/82442) in all competitions this season so we believe that the Hammers could lure him to the London Stadium with the promise of more first team action.

Sebastien Haller has [only scored six league goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sebastien-haller/leistungsdaten/spieler/181375) this term and manager David [Moyes has called for more goals](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/january/29-january/moyes-we-did-lot-good-things-ultimately-we-need-take-our), so we feel Giroud would be a great addition because of his record of doing just that in the top flight.
