West Ham interested in Jean-Pierre Nsame

West Ham United are interested in signing Young Boys striker Jean-Pierre Nsame, according to a report on French news outlet Football365.

The report confirms that the Hammers have been looking at the striker’s current situation at the Swiss club.

The 26-year-old has got his name on the scoresheet 16 times in 18 Swiss Super League appearances this season, whilst also netting twice in the UEFA Europa League group stages (Transfermarkt).

West Ham manager David Moyes said on Wednesday that his side need more goals and that is something that Nsame brings in abundance, as seen by his record this season.

The Cameroon international was also voted as the Swiss Super League Player of the Year in 2019.

However, as confirmed in the report, Nsame extended his current deal with Young Boys until 2023 just last summer, meaning it could prove to be difficult to secure his signature, especially this late in the transfer window.

The club are also at the top of the Super League table at the moment whilst Nsame is the competition’s top goalscorer, so we believe that they won’t be willing to let him go, especially mid-way through a title challenge.
