# West Ham fans furious that Lanzini started over Fornals

West Ham United manager David Moyes opted to start Manuel Lanzini again over Pablo Fornals, and it was not a popular decision amongst the fans.

Lanzini has been given a run of starts under Moyes, whilst Fornals has had to settle for a place on the bench.

The Hammers went on to lose the match 2-0 after goals from Mohamed Salah and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain.

The fans were[angry with Lanzini last week](https://readwestham.com/2020/01/23/west-ham-fans-furious-with-lanzini-display-in-leicester-loss/) after his poor performance against Leicester City and some can’t understand why the Argentine keeps being selected to start.

The 26-year-old has made 17 top-flight appearances so far this season but is yet to find the net. However,  he has managed to register three assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manuel-lanzini/leistungsdaten/spieler/135853)).

Fornals[joined the Hammers for £24m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48636017) last summer and has 23 league appearances, with[ten of those coming from the bench.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/297203/Show/Pablo-Fornals)

These fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations at Moyes and Lanzini.

> Twitter: @WestHam Stop playing Lanzini and start Fornals. He was hitting good form before Moyes took over. Lanzini is horrible at the moment. ![🙄](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/12.0.0-1/svg/1f644.svg) (@aliciaisabelx)
