# Lennon rules out Ntcham’s proposed move to West Ham

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has rubbished reports linking midfielder Olivier Ntcham away from Celtic Park.

The Hammers were [reported to be in talks](https://readwestham.com/2020/01/30/west-ham-in-talks-to-sign-ntcham-from-celtic/) with the Scottish champions over a potential deal to bring Ntcham to the London Stadium this week.

However, as reported on [The Scotsman](https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/celtic/neil-lennon-speaks-on-ntcham-and-gordon-transfer-links-as-st-johnstone-chiefs-claim-capri-sun-pouch-was-thrown-at-zander-clark-1-5082782), Lennon totally ruled out a move for the midfielder. He said:

> It’s nonsense. He’s not going anywhere.

> The last thing I want is good players going out the door. I had a joke with Olivier after the game, asking him if he was doing that for the cameras, putting himself out there.

> As far as I’m concerned he’s not going anywhere.

### READ CELTIC VERDICT

Ntcham has produced some great moments for the Hoops this season, including his [opener in Celtic’s last league match](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jySNWxr8SdQ) against St Johnstone.

The most notable moment was his[late winner in the UEFA Europa League](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-match-reports/lazio-1-celtic-2-olivier-20834529) group stages against Lazio in Rome to secure progression into the last 32 of the competition.

The Hammers have also already [signed midfielder Tomas Soucek](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/january/29-january/west-ham-united-complete-loan-signing-czech-midfielder-tomas) this week, so we believe targeting Ntcham was slightly surprising.

Lennon’s honesty and confirmation mean that Hammers fans can turn their attentions away from the Frenchman as the club continue to look for a late arrival this week.
