Hammers fans react as Reid looks likely to agree USA move

Many West Ham fans have paid tribute to Winston Reid, who seems to be nearing a move to the USA, closing the curtains on his 10-year career at the club.

According to ExWHUEmployee, it looks ‘likely’ that the 31-year-old will agree to a switch across the pond after his injury problems have made him somewhat of an outcast at the London Stadium.

Reid hasn’t made a single first-team appearance since the 2017-18 season after suffering a freak knee injury against Swansea City in March 2018.

Since his last West Ham match, the club have signed centre-backs Fabian Balbuena, Issa Diop and Goncalo Cardoso.

The Hammers’ rejected approach for long-term target, New York Red Bulls centre-half Aaron Long this week also tells you all you need to know about Reid’s position in the pecking order.

Plenty of fans have taken to social media to wish the New Zealand international well after being such a great servant in East London.

matchday.
