# West Ham fans are delighted as the club look to sign Nahitan Nandez

West Ham United are interested in Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, [according to ExWHUEmployee, who was speaking on the West Ham Way podcast](https://anchor.fm/westhamway/episodes/The-West-Ham-Way-Podcast-165---Tuesday-21st-January-2020-eab4ev).

The Hammers are yet to make an outfield signing in this transfer window and Nandez is said to be an “option” for the London club.

As heard on the[podcast, ExWHUEmployee said:](https://anchor.fm/westhamway/episodes/The-West-Ham-Way-Podcast-165---Tuesday-21st-January-2020-eab4ev)

> There’s a guy called Nahitan Nandez who plays for Cagliari, he’s 24, he’s an Uruguayan midfielder.

> I hear he’s a bit of an engine who gets up and down. He’s an option.

Nandez only joined the Italian side in August 2019 and his [contract at the club runs until the summer of 2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nahitan-nandez/profil/spieler/315063), so negotiating a deal for him could prove difficult due to this.

He’s made 19 league appearances this season and these Hammers fans clearly rate him highly.
