West Ham United are interested in Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, according to ExWHUEmployee, who was speaking on the West Ham Way podcast.

The Hammers are yet to make an outfield signing in this transfer window and Nandez is said to be an “option” for the London club.

As heard on the podcast, ExWHUEmployee said:

There’s a guy called Nahitan Nandez who plays for Cagliari, he’s 24, he’s an Uruguayan midfielder.

I hear he’s a bit of an engine who gets up and down. He’s an option.

Nandez only joined the Italian side in August 2019 and his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2024, so negotiating a deal for him could prove difficult due to this.

He’s made 19 league appearances this season and these Hammers fans clearly rate him highly.

Others feel that it is just a distraction tactic…

Do you think West Ham will sign any outfield player before the transfer window closes?
