Roberto set to join Alaves on loan

West Ham United goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez is closing in on a loan move to Spanish side Alaves, according to a report on AS.

The report states that the shot-stopper will complete his move back to Spain ‘on Monday’.

The 33-year-old was required to be West Ham’s main goalkeeper for a few weeks earlier this season after Lukasz Fabianski suffered an injury, but he failed to impress.

The keeper only signed for the Hammers last July.

His errors resulted in many pundits and fans labelling him as one of the worst goalkeepers to ever feature in the top flight.

The Hammers have also resigned Darren Randolph this month, meaning Roberto is now further down the pecking order at the London Stadium, so it makes sense for him to leave on loan.

We feel that going back to his home country could help him build up some confidence before returning back to London at the end of the season.
