Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has handed West Ham a transfer blow, after revealing that midfielder Ross Barkley will not be leaving the club this January, as per Sky Sports.

Speaking ahead of the clash with Newcastle United this weekend, Lampard revealed that the midfielder won’t be leaving Chelsea, despite links with a loan deal to West Ham.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Lampard revealed:

There’s no talk here of Ross Barkley going anywhere; he’s our player. He’s played the last couple of games and done very well. I’ve got a lot of faith in Ross.

I’m very happy with him.

This is obviously a blow to West Ham’s chances of signing Barkley.

The midfielder has made just 11 appearances in all competitions this season for the Blues and looks very much like he is out of Frank Lampard’s plans.

Surely a move to West Ham would be the best for both sides, offering Barkley more game time and potentially a spot in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 side.

However, Lampard obviously doesn’t feel this way, which would potentially stop any potential deal going through.

Should Lampard let Barkley move to West Ham?
