# West Ham set to consider Barkley deal later in January window

West Ham are reportedly set to consider a deal for Ross Barkley this window but will wait until the final week of the window to make a final decision according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-plotting-move-to-sign-pl-26-yr-old-in-last-week-of-window/).

As per the [report](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-plotting-move-to-sign-pl-26-yr-old-in-last-week-of-window/), West Ham have already had a loan bid rejected for the midfielder, but have not given up in their chase just yet.

David Moyes is reportedly a big fan of the former Everton youth prospect, who he gave his debut at the Toffees.

West Ham are, according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-plotting-move-to-sign-pl-26-yr-old-in-last-week-of-window/), hoping that once Chelsea have a better idea of what their squad will look like post-January, then they will allow Barkley to join them on loan.

The midfielder has had a mixed spell at the Blues, and has found gametime at a premium this season with only seven Premier League appearances, [as per Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ross-barkley/leistungsdaten/spieler/131978).

However, speaking in his press conference, Frank Lampard [revealed](https://twitter.com/NizaarKinsella/status/1218166435467448327) that Ross Barkley won’t be going anywhere in the window.

> There’s no talk here of Ross Barkley going anywhere. He is our player and in the last games he has done well. I have a lot of faith in Ross. I have no feeling towards it, I am very happy with him.

Despite struggling at Chelsea, mainly down to several [injury](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ross-barkley/verletzungen/spieler/131978) issues, but he could still be a great signing for West Ham due to his international experience, and his past play at Everton.

Barkley has 33-caps for England, and has scored seven goals for Chelsea. This follows 27 goals for Everton, along with 28 assists whilst at Goodison Park as per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ross-barkley/leistungsdaten/spieler/131978).

Signing the midfielder on a loan deal would be a great move from David Moyes, but they might struggle if the Blues see him as part of their first-team plans.
