West Ham United have expressed an interest in signing Manchester United full-back Ashley Young, according to a report on ESPN, but emerging claims from Sky Sports in Italy suggest that he is on the verge of a move to Inter Milan.
Twitter: BREAKING: A £1.3m deal to bring Ashley Young to Inter Milan from Manchester United has been completed, according to Sky in Italy. (@SkySportsNews)
The Englishman wants to secure a move away from Old Trafford and rejected the club’s offer of a one-year contract extension, as reported on BBC Sport.

Young was left out of United’s 1-0 FA Cup third-round replay victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday evening.

We feel that this move would not have been suitable for the Hammers because of Young’s incredibly high wages, believed to be £120,000 per week, as per Sportrac.
The Hammers also currently have an ageing right-back in Pablo Zabaleta and we feel that the club needs to invest in younger talent that can be useful in future seasons. But, Moyes may be attracted by Young’s experience and in that sense, he could have been a good addition to the dressing room.
However, it seems that he has his heart set on a move abroad and the fact that he’s rejected a new deal at United proves that.
