# West Ham fans distraught after Fabianski injury

West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was forced off the pitch after just 15 minutes against Sheffield United.

As reported on [Sky Sports](https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1215730325533401090), the Polish international seemed to have aggravated the hip injury which kept him out for a large chunk of the season.

The goalkeeper was visibly distraught as he was trudging off the field and so were these Hammers fans on social media…

> Twitter: @WestHam I fully wanna cry (@TheWestHamVault)

> Twitter: @WestHam Need to break the bank now for a top class keeper or we are down. Scrap the Randolph deal. (@wonderland4488)

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

As bad news goes, this is up there. This is a disaster for the club. Why? Because Fabianski has just returned after a long stretch out of action and is one of the [best goalkeepers in the top flight](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/saves?po=GOALKEEPER), but now it seems he’s going to be absent for another spell.

Just by reading the reactions of the Hammers fans, you can see that this injury could be catastrophic to their season.

The Hammers have been [closely linked with a move](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-darren-randolph-transfer-news-on-hold-a4330226.html) for Darren Randolph but he [failed his initial medical](https://readwestham.com/2020/01/08/randolph-fails-west-ham-medical-ahead-of-4m-switch/) at the club. Surely, they’ll treat this situation as their primary focus in the next couple of days.
