Italian giants AS Roma are considering a move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to a report on [HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/01/08/report-roma-considering-move-for-newcastle-and-west-ham-target-m/).

The forward has found it [difficult to get enough playing time](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/leistungsdaten/spieler/179184) for the Blues so far this season, featuring for only 117 minutes in the Premier League.

The Hammers were reported to be [considering a loan move](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/11622725/west-ham-consider-approach-to-take-michy-batshuayi-on-loan-from-chelsea) for the Belgian international before reports emerged that the[forward’s wage demands](https://talksport.com/football/485598/west-ham-latest-chelsea-michy-batshuayi-turns-down-hammers/) were a stumbling block for the club.

The London club are in the market for a new striker and Roma’s interest will come as a blow to West Ham hopes of securing a deal for Batshuayi.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

It is a blow for the Hammers because Roma are one of the [biggest and most successful](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/as-rom/erfolge/verein/12)clubs in Italy.

With Euro 2020 approaching, Batshuayi needs to be playing consistently to prove that he is worthy of a place in the Belgium squad.

The striker [spoke of his frustration](https://sportwitness.co.uk/chelsea-player-admits-hes-frustrated-situation-insists-crying-not-pay-off/) at the lack of minutes handed to him by Frank Lampard so far this term and there is expected to be a battle for his signature for the remainder of the month.

If the Hammers are serious about signing him, then they need to act quickly because fellow Premier League side[Newcastle United](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1225805/Aston-Villa-Newcastle-Michy-Batshuayi-Chelsea-transfer-news-Frank-Lampard) are also eyeing a move for him.
