Joe Cole in line for coaching role at West Ham

Former West Ham United midfielder Joe Cole is in line to return to the club as a coach, according to a report on the Daily Mail.

Stuart Pearce was initially set to take up an assistant role alongside David Moyes but the hierarchy at the London Stadium blocked the move, meaning Moyes has turned his attention to Cole.

Cole started his career with West Ham and provided some epic moments during his time there, before eventually moving to Chelsea.

The report states that the current TV pundit is being considered for the role with Moyes confirming that the club are looking at completing a deal.

Bringing in Cole could prove to be a big boost for the Hammers because he knows exactly what it means to represent the club.

During his two spells at the club, the midfielder always had the backing of the supporters and his knowledge of the game could be valuable to Moyes and all the players.

Cole played at an elite level throughout his career and should be able to use his experiences to motivate the current crop of players for the remainder of the season.
