There will be eager eyes on the London Stadium today as West Ham United host AFC Bournemouth in David Moyes’ first game in charge since his return.
The Scotsman begins his second stint as manager after replacing Manuel Pellegrini on an 18-month contract last week as he looks to steer the club away from a relegation battle.
Bournemouth, also struggling to gain momentum this season, pose as a fairly favourable first opponent for Moyes and BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has backed the Hammers to kick his tenure off with a rare win:
The return of David Moyes is just what West Ham need. He’ll get them organised and difficult to beat. I think West Ham will get a bounce because of the new manager.

A victory would start the new decade off in a really positive way, but a poor result at home could be an indicator of troubled times to come for Moyes.
Many will be backing West Ham to secure a huge three points though, especially because of the bounce teams tend to get with new management.
If the squad fight for Moyes and show they want to improve, this club has every chance of climbing up the table.
