West Ham yet to decide on whether to bring Diangana back from West Brom

West Ham have yet to decide whether or not to bring back winger Grady Diangana next month from his loan at West Bromwich Albion.

The winger, who has impressed a lot at the Hawthorns, is currently recovering from an injury, but has made a big impression in the West Midlands.

Albion want to keep him at the club for the rest of the season, but, West Ham do have a clause that allows them to bring him back in January.

However, when this was agreed, it was written this would only be done if West Ham were having serious issues with injuries.

In a meeting of the Albion Assembly, which includes several members of the Albion backroom, the minutes read:

While accepting team matters were not the main purpose for Assembly business, members did ask if there could be any update the club could offer over his loan from West Ham?

Luke Dowling went over the background of the agreement with Grady’s parent club and the initial proposal that only a serious injury difficulties for West Ham would provoke a January recall.

Manuel Pellegrini had re-stated his desire to see Grady stay for the season in the belief that it would pay greater dividend for West Ham, but he acknowledged that each season brings challenges for clubs and Albion must wait to see how the situation pans out.

Diangana has been superb at West Brom this season, so West Ham must be careful not to stifle his development.

However, with West Ham’s league form not being the best, Pellegrini might find it time to bring the winger back into the fold.

It will be a difficult decision and one in which the Hammers only have a fortnight to make.
